Subject: PAMPAS, Huancavelica.
Dear fellow citizens: today we are ending a week of intense work medico-dental and surgical charitable benefit of the population of the city of Pampas, the 2nd in importance of Huancavelica. Located at 3200 m above the level of the sea, in an area more warm and accessible to agriculture and trade, especially with Huancayo and in that way with Lima; It is two to three hours of the departmental hospital of Huancavelica, which makes need local services for those who do not can be transported, in short the most poor. The hospital is an enlarged health post of very good size and recent modern construction, the best of its kind I've seen in Peru. Obviously not meet even all the requirements needed by the population. The staff is very efficient and humane. They cover an area with approximately 120 thousand inhabitants of the region or province of Tayacaja. I am very happy to have come to work for the first time to this area, with a professional team of pequenho, exploratory to enable your own potential future campaigns conducting medical major. We thank the donations of Direct Relief International, and that institution especially Sr Daniel Snith who supports infatigablemtente Peru and us - California PAMS Chapter - for two decades: 50 pounds of antibiotics of first quality and great need in these areas of cold. Also the logistic support of Cia de Minas Buenaventura who for 8 consecutive years gives us their institutional capacity in aid programmes to the Dept. of Huancavelica, where carried out sincere and efficient programmes of social care to the needs of lso Huancavelicanos without asking anything in return or impose conditions of any kind. And the crazy direction of health, (DIRESA), and all PAMPAS Hospital staff for their friendly and total cooperation. The statistics are in preparation and will be published when they are ready, but have done, each of the six team members, interventions ever made in this town, teaching techniques and procedures learned through long and successful professional experiences, enriching thus the opportunity that the inhabitants of the area to benefit from this. Cordial and sincere, with best wishes from you for all and especially for the brothers of the Senhor de los Milagros for whom this is the most important week of 2013. Dr. Ralph Kuon |
