After discussing with the mining company and most of the Peruvian volunteers, this is the protocol for taking the bus:
-Recent changes in our partner corporation rules forbid nightly busing. Safety is the main concern. -Thus most all Peruvian volunteers plus American Volunteers already in Lima will take the bus on Friday 12th of August at the Main Office. The address is provided in the email. (Google it. It is very easy to find. Taxi fare to the office should be at most about $10 per car.) Once the bus is loaded with you, the American volunteers + the Peruvian volunteers, it will go to the airport and picked those arriving by 2pm. Once on board the bus takes the road to Huancavelica probably around 3pm. Since it cannot travel by night, bus will stop in the largest city of the area, named Huancayo, at a Presidente Hotel -same chain as the Huancavelica- where you all will spend the night. Estimated arrival time if departure is as expected should around 8 pm. After a good night rest, you will continue on Saturday morning to Huancavelica where you should arrive after some four hours of travel. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact us. |
